i. Details of the Event/Activity
The session titled “Stay Safe Online: Cyber Security Basics” was a free learning program designed to help government employees enhance their cybersecurity awareness and develop safer online practices. The event was conducted face-to-face and facilitated by cybersecurity experts who discussed common digital threats, data protection techniques, and secure online habits. It focused on how individuals and organizations can safeguard sensitive information from hackers, phishing scams, and malware attacks. The session also provided practical tips for creating strong passwords, recognizing suspicious links, and handling confidential data responsibly. Overall, it aimed to strengthen digital literacy and promote a culture of cybersecurity in the workplace.

ii. Reflections and Learnings
From this session, I learned the critical importance of being vigilant and responsible when using digital platforms. The speakers emphasized that cybersecurity is not only a technical issue but also a matter of personal discipline and awareness. I realized that even simple habits, like regularly updating passwords, verifying email sources, and avoiding public Wi-Fi for sensitive transactions, can greatly reduce security risks. The discussion also highlighted how cyberattacks continue to evolve and target both individuals and institutions. This made me more aware of the importance of continuous learning and staying updated with the latest security measures. The session reminded me that in today’s digital world, protecting data is everyone’s responsibility, not just that of IT professionals.

iii. Practical Application of Learnings
The knowledge I gained from this session can be applied in everyday digital activities. I plan to be more cautious when sharing personal information online and to use two-factor authentication for my accounts. I also learned how to identify potential phishing attempts and malicious websites, which will help me avoid scams and data breaches. In a professional setting, I can apply these lessons by ensuring that files and documents are stored securely and by reporting suspicious emails or system activities immediately. These practices will not only protect my personal data but also contribute to maintaining the integrity and safety of organizational information systems.

iv. Positive Feedback
The “Stay Safe Online: Cyber Security Basics” session was highly informative and well-presented. The speakers explained complex cybersecurity concepts in a clear and practical manner, making it easy for participants from different backgrounds to understand. Before the session started, the organizers conducted a fun Kahoot quiz as an icebreaker to test our existing knowledge about cybersecurity. It was an enjoyable way to engage participants, promote interaction, and set a positive tone for learning. I also appreciated the inclusion of real-life examples of cyber incidents, which made the discussions more relatable and impactful. The organizers did an excellent job ensuring that the event was both educational and engaging, creating an environment that encouraged everyone to actively participate.

v. Suggestions for Improvement
For future sessions, it would be helpful to include hands-on demonstrations, such as identifying phishing emails or simulating cybersecurity scenarios, to give participants practical experience. Providing printed or digital guides summarizing the key points would also be beneficial for review and application. Additionally, conducting follow-up workshops or advanced sessions on topics like data encryption, network security, or cyber hygiene could help deepen participants’ understanding. These enhancements would make future cybersecurity trainings even more effective and impactful.
